Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Family Planner mobile application (“App”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using this App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Family Planner is a comprehensive family life management application. It helps you manage:

Financial Management:

• Budgets, transactions, accounts, and bills
• Wealth tracking: investment portfolios, insurance policies, and net worth
• Debt planning and repayment strategies
• Financial reports and analytics

Family Organisation:

• Family member profiles and roles
• Shared calendar and events
• Tasks and chore management
• Goals and habits tracking
• Meal planning and recipes
• Shopping lists and document storage

Health & Wellness:

• Health records and medical profiles for each family member
• Medication tracking and reminders
• Appointment scheduling
• Vaccination records and vital signs

Insights & Analytics:

• AI-generated financial insights and spending analysis
• Budget forecasting and trend reports
• Customisable dashboard with widgets

The App operates primarily offline, with all data stored locally on your device.

3. Offline-First Architecture

• All your personal data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database
• The App does not require an internet connection for core functionality
• Your records are NOT transmitted to external servers
• Optional cloud backup (OFF by default) stores encrypted data in YOUR personal Google Drive account

4. Eligibility and Age Requirements

• You are at least 18 years of age, OR at least 13 years of age with parental/guardian consent
• You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
• If you are using this App on behalf of a family, you have authority to bind family members to these Terms

5. Subscription Tiers

Free Tier:

• Core budgeting and transaction tracking
• Limited number of accounts, budgets, and family members
• Basic dashboard widgets

Family Tier (Paid):

• Unlimited accounts, budgets, transactions, and family members
• Full access to wealth tracking, debt planning, and reports
• Advanced AI insights and analytics
• All dashboard widgets and customisation options
• Priority support

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play, auto-renew unless cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time through your app store account settings.

6. User Responsibilities

• The accuracy and completeness of data you enter
• Maintaining the security of your device and PIN/biometric access
• Creating backups of your data
• Any financial, health, or personal decisions made based on information in the App
• Ensuring health data entered is accurate (the App is NOT a medical device)

7. Data Ownership

• You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the App
• We do not claim any rights to your personal, financial, or health information
• Your data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup
• Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data

8. Intellectual Property

• The App, including its design, code, graphics, and features, is owned by Family Planner
• You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code

9. Prohibited Uses

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App’s systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
• Use the App as a substitute for professional medical, financial, or legal advice

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF FINANCIAL CALCULATIONS OR AI-GENERATED INSIGHTS, ACCURACY OF HEALTH TRACKING, UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, OR COMPATIBILITY WITH ALL DEVICES.

11. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

• AI insights are based on the data you enter and may not reflect your complete financial picture
• Spending predictions and budget forecasts are estimates, not guarantees
• AI-generated suggestions do NOT constitute financial, medical, or legal advice

12. Health Data Disclaimer

• The App is NOT a medical device and is NOT intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition
• Medication reminders are convenience features — always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions
• In case of a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately

13. Limitation of Liability

• We are NOT liable for any financial losses or decisions made based on App data
• We are NOT liable for any health-related decisions or outcomes based on App data
• We are NOT responsible for data loss due to device failure, user error, or App malfunction
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months

14. Financial Disclaimer

This App is a tool for personal financial organisation only. It does NOT provide financial advice, investment recommendations, tax guidance, legal counsel, or insurance advice. Always consult qualified professionals.

15. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication: For optional Google Sign-in and email authentication
• Firebase Crashlytics: For automatic crash reporting (technical data only, NO personal data)
• Google Drive API: For optional cloud backup (stores data in YOUR account)

16. Updates and Modifications

• We may update the App and these Terms periodically
• Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance
• Major changes will be communicated through the App

17. Termination

• You may stop using the App at any time
• Uninstalling removes all local data permanently
• Cloud backup data remains in your Google Drive until you delete it
• Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through your app store

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of your jurisdiction.
